Mughal Empire, Shah Jahan (1628-1658), gold Token or Mohur, 10.67g, Akbarabad, AH(10)26?, medal orientation (^^), legend in four lines with mint at bottom, rev. legend in three lines with kalima in central portion (not listed in KM), an interesting type, possibly struck for presentation, a scatter of test punches on edge, very fine Although unlisted, several Mohurs of this type have come to light. The orientation leads the cataloguer to believe that they may have been intended as presentation pieces struck in the 16th or early 17th century.
