Charles I (1625-1649), Group F, Quarter-Unite or Gold Crown, 1641-1643, Tower (under Parliament), fourth crowned bust left, rev. crowned oval-garnished shield, dividing crowned C-R, 4h, m.m. triangle-in-circle (Brooker 218-219; Schneider II, 255; North 2185; Spink 2715), crimped with areas of striking flatness to obverse peripheries, otherwise on a pleasingly full round flan, strictly fine / about very fine, an exceedingly scarce fractional gold issue from the height of the English Civil War.
