George IV (1820-1830), 'Chantrey's' Sovereign, 1829, Type 2, bare head left, rev. crowned garnished shield, edge milled, 7.98g, 6h (Marsh 14; MCE 480; Spink 3801), a small scuff to rim at 10 o'clock, otherwise residually lustrous, with hints of orange tone, a bolder very fine.
