St. George and Dragon, edges plain (Spink PS15), with Royal Mint case of issue, including: i) Proof Five-Pounds, 1937, 40.00g, 12h (W&R 435; Spink 4074), faint cabinet friction and a contact point before brow and rim upsetting at reverse 10 o'clock, otherwise brilliant, much as issued; ii) Proof Two-Pounds, 1937, 16.07g, 12h (W&R 437; Spink 4075), some wisps in otherwise brilliant fields, much as struck, the portrait distinctly cameo; iii) Proof Sovereign, 1937, 8.03g, 12h (W&R 439; Spink 4076), some faint hairlines in otherwise brilliant fields, much as issued; and iv) Proof Half-Sovereign, 1937, 4.00g, 12h (Marsh 543A; W&R 442; Spink 4077), small rim bruise at reverse 4 o'clock and lightly fingermarked, otherwise brilliant with sharp cameo definition, much as struck (4).
