NGC AU55 | James II (1685-1688), Halfcrown, 1686 SECVNDO, first laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, seven strings to harp, downwards lettered edge, 5h (ESC 494; Bull 749; Spink 3408), dark grey surfaces muting much underlying original lustre, almost extremely fine for issue, rare in this exemplary condition, in NGC holder, conservatively graded AU55 (Cert. #6296881-005).
