George II (1727-1760), 'Roses' Shilling, 1743, older laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, roses in angles, seven strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.96g, 6h (ESC 1203; Bull 1720; Spink 3702), 1827 graffitied in field before the bust, otherwise toned, very fine; another, Shilling, 1758, similar, plain in angles, eight strings to harp, 6.07g, 6h (ESC 1213; Bull 1734; Spink 3704), the obverse struck from a rusted die, lightly toned and lustrous, good very fine (2).
