George III (1760-1820), 'New Coinage', Halfcrown, 1817, Type 2, laureate head right, rev. crowned shield within Garter, milled edge, 14.14g, 11h (ESC 618; Bull 2096; Spink 3789), richly cabinet toned and with underlying cartwheel lustre, choice FDC, a beautiful example even of this commonly encountered issue.
