The Robert P Ball Cabinet of Ancient Coins | Lucania, Poseidonia, AR Stater, c. 530-500 BC, Poseidon stood right hurling trident, nude but with arms draped, ethnic POM to left rev. incuse of obverse type but with trident and ethnic in relief, 3.67g (HN Italy 1107; SNG ANS 615 same dies; SNG München 5 same dies), slight porosity, otherwise a highly pleasing example, lightly toned, very fine or marginally better and a much-coveted rarity.
