The Robert P Ball Cabinet of Ancient Coins | Sicily, Gela, AR Tetradrachm, c. 480/75-470 BC, Charioteer driving slow quadriga right, holding reins and kentron, Nike flying right above, crowning horses, rev. forepart of man-headed bull right, CELAS above, 16.96g, 3h (Jenkins 169; SNG ANS 37; HGC 2, 338; Franke-Hirmer 56/157) the obverse struck with a heavily impaired and off-centre die, the reverse pleasingly neat and imposing, otherwise toned, about very fine.
