Gelon, AR Didrachm, c. 490/85-480/75 BC, naked horseman to right wearing crested helmet, galloping right brandishing spear held high in his hand, rev. forepart of man-headed bull with long pointed beard right, CEVAS inverted ^ above, animal below, 2h (cf. Jenkins, Gela, Group Ib, 18; HGC 2, 363; SNG ANS 5) light toning, obverse struck to left of centre, some wear, otherwise about very fine.
