T9. De La Rue printing, A/3 prefix. A small change treasury note issued early during World War II as an emergency issue. The De La Rue printings were believed to be the first, later followed by another run printed by Waterlow. Very scarce in better grades, as these were meant to circulate and relatively few were put aside for today's generation of collectors. This particular example retains exceptional eye-appeal and at first glance appears to be in uncirculated condition.
