Netherlands Indies, Javasche Bank ND (1930s?) PCGS Superb Gem UNC 68 PPQ 25 Gulden (Test Note)
An interesting test note printed by Johan Enschede & Zonen in the Netherlands sometime in the 1920s or 1930s. This type was a trial piece never issued for the Javasche Bank in the Netherlands Indies. After the design was rejected, additional trial pieces were made for the fictional "Jelsumer Bank", which were fantasy pieces. Those are frequently seen, but the originals for the Javasche Bank are much scarcer, especially so as fully printed examples as seen here. An important opportunity for the Indonesian specialist and the first we have handled.
