Scotland, Commercial Bank of Scotland 1.12.1928 P-S331a PMG Gem UNC 65 EPQ 1 Pound
An important and popular type from Scotland seen here in fantastic grade for the issue. Most Scottish 1 Pound notes from this era are typically seen in well-circulated grades, and uncirculated examples are scarce. True Gems, such as seen here, are rare. This has the second of two 1928 issued by the Commercial Bank of Scotland and the first prefix for that date, of which just 250,000 were printed. The note itself is fully original, with near perfect centering and fresh color and paper. It is the single finest in the PMG population report. An opportunity for the specialist of Scotland not to be missed.
