Last emperor of Russia; although Nicholas supported economic and political reform, any progress that could have been made was undermined by his ardent commitment to autocratic rule; executed along with his family July 17, 1918 after the Bolsheviks took power. Document Signed "Nicholas" as emperor. Decree and Warrant, each one page, partially printed, in Russian, 8 ¾ x 13 7/8", November 17, 1914, for the Order of St. Anne, 1st Class, bestowed on Dmitry Lubimov.
