As part of a larger 45-day Royal Visit to the Canadian Provinces and four of the five Great Lakes, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip made a brief 14-hour visit to Chicago. It was the first ever visit by a reigning British monarch to the city; also British Consul-General in Chicago Invitation to celebrate Her Majesty's Birthday, June 11, 1960; to meet Alan Green, MP, Minster of State, June 12, 1960; and to meet John Rodgers, MP and Lord Glentoran, Sept. 29, 1960..
