(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1858, 'Unbarred A's in GRATIA', Type IA, second larger young head, W.W. incuse on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.99g, 6h (MCE 519; Marsh 41; Spink 3852D), unbarred A's in GRATIA, wiped and lightly contact marked, yet lustrous to legend and reverse, touch of tone to the reverse, very fine, a scarce if somewhat speculative variety.
