(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereigns, 1866, Type IB (4), 1866 over 5 [Die 11], second larger young head, WW incuse on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.97g, 7h (Bentley 488); another, no overdate, similar [Die 13], 7.94g, 6h (Bentley 489); another [Die 16], 7.95g, 6h (Bentley 156); lastly, similar, [Die 17], 7.94g, 7h (MCE 527; Marsh 51; Bentley 1072; Spink 3853), all rubbed and generally bagmarked, the last stained, the first cleaned, otherwise residually lustrous, a bolder fine to very fine, the first with an overdate previously unpublished with this die number, rare thus (4).
