(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1866 over 5 [Die 28], second larger young head, W.W. incuse on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.97g, 7h (Marsh 51; Bentley -/494 same reverse die; MCE 527; Spink 3853), rubbed and bright, but residually lustrous, the reverse with warming hints of orange toning, very fine / good very fine, the overdate clear and previously unrecorded with this die number.
