(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign [Die 23], 1872, (2), second larger young head, W.W. in relief on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 6h, 7.97g; 7.98g (Marsh 56; Spink 3853B), first is slightly dull and bruised on rim left of shield, however still attractive, the second has light fogging to fields around bust, otherwise lustrous and ample brilliance, very fine to good very fine (2).
