Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1851, second young filleted head left, W.W. raised on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, laurel wreath surrounding, emblems below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINIA FID: DEF:, edge milled, 7.96g (Bentley 62; Marsh 34; S.3852C). Peppered with tiny surface marks, perhaps once cleaned, otherwise a bold very fine.

Calendar year mintage 4,013,624

The Latin legend translates on the obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," continuing on the reverse as "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
