"Ho hagios Io(hannes) ho Chr(y)s(os)t(o)m(os) / K(yri)e b(oe)th(ei) Io(hanne) proedro to K(o)ctomyr(e)"; "Der Heilige Iohannes Chrysostomos / Herr hilf Iohannes(, dem) Prohedros, dem Kostomyres"; - Bisher sind zwei Schriftsiegel bekannt, die Iohannes Kostomyres nennen, als Protospatharios-Dishypatos (!) & Krites tu Aigaiu Pelagus (Jordanov II 238, 4b = DOCseals II 127, 42.3) bzw. als Patrikios & Dikastes Makedonias & Thrakes (Jordanov II 238, 4a = DOCseals V 142, 100.1). Obiges Bildsiegel ist sicher nicht demselben Signatar zuzuweisen, denn zwischen Patrikios und Prophedros wären zu viele Ränge zu durchschreiten gewesen: (Patrikios-)Anthypatos < (Patrikios-Anthypatos-)Bestes < (Patrikios-Anthypatos-Bestes-)Bestarches < Magistros < Magistros-Bestes < Magistros-(Bestes-)Bestarches. - Ein weiterer Iohannes Kostomyres, in einem Brief vom April 1239 als "basilikos Grammatikos Smyrnes" tituliert, schrieb im September einem Brief als "Apographeus Katepanikiu Smyrnes", mit - nicht erhaltenem, aber beschriebenen - Schriftsiegel, auf dem Iohannes Chrysostomos um Beistand gebeten wird (Wassiliou 2002, 148ff; Jordanov II 238, 4d). - Weitere Kostomyrai: Epiphanios, Bestes (Coll.
