The Sir David Kirch Collection of Skit Notes - Part Four

Bank of Rawcliffe, 5 Halfpence, 21 June 1825, serial number 84, manuscript signature of Jas Hirst, with an amusing engraving of a selection of people an animals including a horse drawn chaise, a small dog with a saddle, a man with a pig and a musket, and man running away from another man riding an ox! very good, amusing and scarce
Outing unlisted £70-£90

---

Rawcliffe Bank is a ridge in the North York Moors, meaning this note probably originates from somewhere in that area. It doesn't appear to have an overt political message and may well be just a joke. Regardless, it is one of the few skit notes that survives in any number, perhaps because of the amusing engraving.
