The Sir David Kirch Collection of Skit Notes - Part Four
Long Room, New Theatre, Abadare, an advertising pamphelt in the style of a cheque for £10, 1909, claiming that there are 'sales daily and each evening, where you certainly ought to pay A.Henry & Co (auctioneers) a visit. It may benefit you more than a cheque for £10', and signed 'R.U.Cumming?', good fine, unusual
Outing unlisted £60-£80
---
An amusing item that is clearly, at least in part, a joke, since some additonal text says 'The back of this cheque must be read by the Party to whom it is presented'. The back is of course, blank. There is no trace of either a New Theatre in Abadare or a A.Henry, so it is possible that the entire thing is a joke, or some kind of theatre prop.
