HGC-10, 185; Pr-3452. In the name and types of Alexander III. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left; in left field, civic monogram above palm tree; [date (in Phoenician) in exergue]. Exhibiting slightly rough surfaces and struck on an oblong flan that omits the exergual date, this piece is nonetheless a highly alluring example of a VERY RARE issue from the city of Marathos.
