Victoria, sovereign, 1843, Roman I in date and second I of BRITANNIARUM is a reversed Arabic 1, young head l., rev. crowned shield of arms within wreath (S.3852), some scuffs, otherwise extremely fine
The reversed Arabic 1 is most unusual and the combination of varieties makes this an extremely rare coin. We have only seen one other example of this variety, in 2008 where it sold for £2,400 hammer.
