(D&W. 164/489; Withers 2327), choice, brilliant surface, virtually mint state
Charles Finch was The medallist "I.P." remains a mystery; Forrer (BDM, p. 395), lists the piece as by Conrad Küchler for James Watt & Co., formerly Soho Mint. Pidgeon, who also worked for James Watt & Co., but the initial "I" does not tally. Isaac Parkes is an unlikely "I.P." and the non-appearance of the medal in Eimer's The Pingo Family, would seem to rule out a member of that family.

Estimate: 1500 - 2000 GBP
