Anonymous light series. AE Triens. Uncertain Sardinian, Sicilian, or non-Roman Italian mint. Second Punic War lightweight issue, after 211 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Minerva right; above, four pellets. Rev. Prow right; below, four pellets. Cf. Cr. 56/4. AE. 5.55 g. 21.00 mm. Traces of overstriking, clearly visible Sicilian undertype. Good VF. The letters ΟΣ and the traces of a trident suggest this Triens was struck over a Hieron's Syracusan bronze. The unidentified mint of this light Triens was probably Sicilian, not Sardinian.
