Rx: IOVI DEFE - NS SALVTIS AVG Jupiter, naked, advancing l. but looking back, brandishing thunderbolt, with seven stars around him representing the seven planets then known. Scarce: only 19 specimens in Reka Devnia hoard. The reverse honors Jupiter as the "Defender of the Emperor\'s Safety", apparently because Commodus had foiled a conspiracy against his life or recovered from an illness and attributed his salvation to Jupiter.. aEF
