Rx: SALVS - AVGVSTA around, S C in exergue, Salus seated l. holding patera and vertical scepter. A new die combination to Kraay; from his obverse die A 11, pl. XIII, combined with his reverse die P 88, pl. XVI. Rare obverse legend with unusual abbreviation PONT MAX, known to Kraay on only this one obverse die. Thin modern letter C stamped behind portrait. Collector\'s note "FSK 1966" doubtless indicates purchase from Frederick S. Knobloch in 1966.Powerful portrait in somewhat high relief; slight porosity from 1 o\'clock to 3 o\' clock near edge of reverse; exceptional sestertius. aVF
