Medieval, Anglo-Saxon, A bronze strap end, 9th century, 4cm long by 1.2cm wide, Trewhiddle style quadruped in a rectangular panel with an animal head terminal and split end at the top with two rivet holes. Very fine £50-£60

Trewhiddle style is a distinctive design of animal motifs first discovered in a hoard in 1774 near St Austell in Cornwall; the animals are clearly defined and arranged singly in panels in a grotesque form.
