Roman, Romano-British, A gilt-bronze oval brooch, 3rd century AD, inlaid in the centre with a flat-faced red glass intaglio with a moulded figure of a hunter figure hanging a hare from a tree, behind he is holding his lagobolon (striking stick), 3cm by 2.2cm (cf. Hattatt 1220). Fine, small chip on the edge £50-£60

The intaglio differs from Hattatt's in being moulded in red glass instead of black.
