Mixed Silver, Base Meal Coinage and Banknotes, to include: Elizabeth I shilling [1587-9], sixth issue 1582-98, mm crescent, (S.2577), obv. bus obliterated, rev. better, Poor/Fair; 8 x silver crowns, comprising: 2 x George III 1820LX, 2 x George IV 1821 SECUNDO, and 4 x Victoria: 2 x 'Jubilee Head' 1888 and 1890, and 2 x 'Old Head' 1895 and 1900, Fair to about Fine; further mixed British silver coinage including double florin 1890, 4 x halfcrowns 1817, 1824, 1895 and 1931, 2 x 'Gothic' florins 1869 and 1872, shillings, sixpences, a Maundy 3d 1852, and a quantity of threepences, gross weight 371.4g; an Austria Leopold I thaler 1694, Hall mint, obv. laureate and armoured bust right, rev. crowned shield of arms within collar, mounted to rev. as a brooch, otherwise GVF together with a quantity of mixed foreign silver comprising: 2 x Maria Theresa restrike thalers 1780X; 2 x South African Republic: 2½ shilling 1896, and 2 shillings1895; India ¼ rupee 1945; Australia shilling 1913; Austria 2 schilling 1928; and USA dime 1943; gross weight 103.6g; 2 x silver medals: War Medal 1914-8; and Silver Jubilee of Gorge V 1935, obv. conjoined busts of King and Queen left, rev. Windsor Castle, in royal Mint cardboard case of issue (Eimer 2029b; BHM 4249); together with a quantity of base metal coinage, mostly 19th and 20th century, highlights include: 'Cartwheel' 2d and 1d 1797, commemorative crowns etc.; and 3 x banknotes, including provincial issue Derby Bank £1 dated March 1814, VG to near Fine; and 2 x Bank of England: £1 Series A signed L.K.
