CHINA, TIBET, lot of 2 pcs: Yuan Shih-kai dollar, dated year 3 (1914) of the Republic, but struck in 1950 for circulation in Tibet. Added is a piece of the normal type. Rare.

The official restrike for Tibet is recognizable by the closed triangle in the yuan symbol on the reverse. These restrikes were very popular as their silver content was higher than the original Yuan Shih-kai dollars.
