Note: The area now known as Bundelkhand was conquered by Maharaja Chattarsal of the Bundela clan in the 17th century. The Princely State of Sarila was a princely state that was indirectly controlled by the British administration. It was part of the Central India Agency in Bundelkhand. The small state was bordered by the district of Hamirpur in the British United Provinces of Agra and Oudh. Sarila was primarily a non-Salute state.

In 1919, Raja Mahipal Singh Deo became the 7th Raja of Sarila. In 1931 and 1932, he represented small princely states at the First and Second Indian Round Table Conferences, and he signed the Instrument of Accession of Sarila State to the Indian Union in 1947, as well as the merger agreement of 1948, in which he renounced his powers. The state of Sarila has ceased to exist and has been merged with the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The Sarila state medals have been unknown in the past and are being offered at auction for the first time. This is an excellent opportunity for serious collectors to add it to their collections.
