Note: A zamindari estate owned by a Bhumihar Brahmin family in South Bihar was known as Tekari Raj, sometimes spelled Tikari Raj. Their estate consisted of 2,046 villages located near the city of Gaya. The Rajas of Tikari are believed to have provided assistance to revolutionaries during the first war of independence in 1857
