LOWER DANUBE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 14.99 g, 12 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing front, head to right, holding club in his right hand and lion skin in his left; in inner left field, monogram; imitative legend around. OTA Class III. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
