Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms of the Protectorate, date above, legend reads, PAX QVÆRITVR BELLO. Edge inscribed in raised letters, designed by Pierre Blondeau *HAS NISI PERITVRVS MIHI ADIMAT NEMO, translating to "Let no one remove these from me under penalty of death." (S.3226; Bull.240; ESC.10; L&S 1). Mottled toning with an underlying fusion of Silver?magenta, flashes of purples and gold, free from any nicks or contact marks, excellent overall detail in both the portrait and drapery folds. Rev, prooflike surfaces with all the cross hatching visible in the arms of the protectorate. Encapsulated and graded by NGC as MS 62.
