Charles II (1660?85), Halfcrown, 1663, first laureate and draped bust right, legend surrounding CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, interlinked Cs in angles, garter star at centre, six strings to harp, date either side of top crown, reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX, edge inscribed DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI XV (S.3361; Bull.438; ESC.457). Uneven toning on the reverse, some obverse contact markings, few scratches. Nevertheless very fine with some of the original mint bloom apparent.
Ex. H. M. Lingford, with original ticket in his hand.
