George II (1727?60), Crown, 1746, Lima below, older laureate and draped bust left, legend surrounding GEORGIVS II DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, ten strings to Irish harp, central garter star, date flanking top crown, reads surrounding M.B.F.ET. H.REX. F.D.B. ET.L.D.S.R.I. A.T ET.E., edge inscription DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI DECIMO NONO (S.3689; Bull.1668; ESC.125). Even cabinet tone, set out on broad flan with good coverage of the toothed borders. Some adjustment marks, field die breaks and light annealing metal fissures visible; the detail in both the Kings hair, armoured bust and legends bold. Rev, a little flecking with a superb strike. Extremely fine, fetching.
