Victoria (1837?1901), Crown, 1844, young filleted head left, W WYON. RA raised on truncation, date below, toothed border surrounding both sides, legend surrounds VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. Crowned quartered shield of arms within laurel wreath, reads BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID DEF, edge inscription with cinquefoil stops DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI VIII (S.3882; ESC. 281; Bull 2562). Lightly toned with some nicks and markings on obverse mainly, pleasing portrait. Reverse, toned with some bloom around periphery. Becoming progressively more difficult to obtain in stronger grades, edge collar shift above the U of Britanniarum. Good very fine.
