Henry VI, King of England and France (1422?50), Gold Angelot d'Or, Rouen Mint, issued 1427, standing figure of Angel Gabriel with outstretched wings behind shields of France and England, mintmark lion both sides, linear and beaded circles, colon stops, reads HENRICVS FRANCORV ET ANGLIE REX. Rev, die axis at 9 o'clock, central Latin cross, lis and lion flanking, reads XPC VINCIT XPC REGNAT XPC IMPERAT, 2.20g (S.8165; Elias 276 RR; Schneider III,133; Beresford Jones 665/667). Lustrous even tone with overt mint brilliance and bloom permeating the surfaces. Fully centred strike on good metal, all conceivable details clear with slight fade in part of the Angel's wings, dig in the English shield manifesting on the reverse as a raised pellet. Bold very fine, very rare.
