Victoria 1837 ?1901 Winchester College, the Queen's medal issued to Robert Baker in 1846, Gold Prize Medal (49mm/57.53gm.) by Benjamin Wyon. Bust of Queen Victoria to left, her hair tied back with roses, HONOREM PRINCEPS PROPONIT. Rev. tomb of William of Wykeham at Winchester, in exergue: ETIAM SEPULTI VIVIT / FAMA WYKEHAMI / OB. MCCCCIV, inscribed on the edge – ROBERTUS J BAKER SCHOLARIS MDCCCXLVI, (cf. BHM.1560; Eimer 1240). Extremely Fine with some original lustre.

Robert James Baker 1828 – 1886, brought up Bexhill, Winchester, University College Oxford, qualified as a barrister in 1854 (Inner Temple), took Holy Orders 1863, Rector of Histon on the Green (Glos.), Trigg Minor (Corn.), Lanteglos (Corn.).
