Anonymous Folles. temp. Basil II & Constantine VIII, circa 976-1025. Æ Follis (26.5mm, 11.54 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; two pellets on book, five pellets in bars of nimbus / Legend in four lines. DOC A2.39; SB 1818 (Class A3). Glossy brown patina, a couple minor edge cracks, some minor doubling on obverse. EF. An outstanding example for type. Very attractive in hand.
