KINGS of MACEDON. temp. Antigonos I Monophthalmos – Lysimachos. Circa 310-290 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 16.97 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III. Uncertain mint in western Asia Minor. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, hippocamp swimming downward. Unpublished, but cf. Seleukos Hoard 1000–4 and CNG E-422, lot 121 for similar issues that were likely struck from dies engraved by the same hand as the present coin. Lightly toned. Good VF. Extremely rare.
