Aelia Flaccilla. Augusta, AD 379-386/8. Æ (12mm, 1.21 g, 12h). Antioch mint, 6th officina. Struck under Theodosius I, circa January-August AD 383. Pearl-diademed and draped bust right / Victory seated right, inscribing Christogram on shield resting on small column; ANTς. RIC IX 54 var. (unlisted officina); LRBC 2737. Black and earthen patina, smoothing marks. VF.

From the Conti Collection.

Previously unknown in the 6th officina. This rare issue must have been struck in the short interval between the elevation of Flaccillia's son Arcadius in January 383 and the transition to the later mint mark varieties in use in Antioch after August of that year.
