Manuel I Comnenus. 1143-1180. AV Hyperpyron (29.5mm, 4.34 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1160-circa 1164. Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; nimbus with five pellets in each double-lined arm / Manuel standing facing, wearing crown and jeweled chlamys, holding labarum and patriarchal globus cruciger; manus Dei above; four jewels on collar, six pellets in chlamys end. DOC 1c; SB 1956. Some luster, slightly wavy flan, misaligned double strike on obverse, graffito on reverse, some tiny deposits on reverse. VF.
