Serial Number 100 Bahamas Bahamas Government 100 Dollars 1965 Pick 25a PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. The final series of Bahamas Government notes issued in Shillings and Pounds capped at the 5 Pound note, which was approximately $15 at the time of decimalization in 1965. The first series of decimal notes included denominations of $20, $50, and $100, which far exceeded the face value of any note from the previous series. This incredible $100, the highest denomination of the series, is seldom seen in any grade, as its sheer value and small print total prevented all but a scant few from being saved for posterity. This offering is the final note in the first bundle, as evidenced by its serial number A000100. It is fully Gem Uncirculated and very scarce in this state. At the time of cataloging, PMG has graded three examples at this level, with only one grading higher. One of the most iconic Queen Elizabeth II notes and a show-stopping offering, especially in this grade.
