Netherlands Netherlands Bank 10 Gulden 1.8.1914 Pick 28 PMG Very Fine 30. The Netherlands issued a variety of denominations in numerous banknote series throughout the 20th century. In some instances, small denomination "coin notes" were issued when silver was scarce. At the onset of World War I, the Netherlands Bank printed at least two new series of banknotes, one of which was issued using limited denominations in small quantities. This 10 Gulden is the smallest denomination of the issued 1914 series. Its design is unlike other issues previously and subsequently. At the time of cataloging, this is only the second example of this type to be sold publicly in a traceable auction since 2014. Additionally, it is the first and only example graded in the PMG Population Report. A very important offering for the Netherlands and part of a fantastic group offered in today's sale.
