AKARNANIA. The Oiniadai. Circa 424-400 BC. Drachm (Silver, 14 mm, 1.54 g, 6 h). Bearded taurine head of Acheloös facing, turned slightly to left. Rev. [ΑΓΗ-ΜΩΝ] Head of Kallirhoë facing, turned slightly to left. BCD Akarnania 8-9. HGC 4, 898. Porous, otherwise, about very fine.
As it is struck on the Cointhian standard, this drachm should weigh c. 2.9 grams. The extremely low weight appears to be due solely to the porosity as there is no other indication that it is fourrée.
