IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 155-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.18 g, 12 h), Herasippos, son of Aristeos. Diademed bust of Artemis to right, with bow and quiver at her shoulder. Rev. MAΓNHTΩN EPAΣIΠΠOΣ APIΣTEOY Apollo standing to left on maeander pattern, holding a filleted laurel branch with his right hand and leaning his left elbow on a tripod behind him; all within laurel wreath. BMC 37, and pl. XVIII, 10 (same obverse die). Jones obverse die 34. SNG von Aulock 2042. Fine old collection toning, perfectly centered, and struck from lovely dies. Extremely fine.
